About you:

You’re an experienced Engineering Team Lead with a strong background in building high-quality software, ideally in a SaaS business. You’re skilled in Java, React, TypeScript, SQL databases (MS or MySQL), and CSS, and you’re confident working across this tech stack to deliver robust solutions.

You enjoy leading teams towards self-management, applying modern techniques to create scalable, accessible software. You take pride in delivering solutions that delight users and make their lives easier. You’re adept at planning and prioritising engineering activities, collaborating across teams to achieve business goals.

You value quality and security, ensuring high standards in your team’s work. You’re commercially aware, working closely with stakeholders to align solutions with business needs. You take ownership of your team’s success and the products you deliver, championing innovation and continuous improvement.

Day-to-day, you will:

• Lead an Agile team to deliver high-quality software solutions using Java, React, TypeScript, SQL databases (MS or MySQL), and CSS, while collaborating with peers to ensure a cohesive approach.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, guiding your team to achieve technical excellence and high performance throughout the development process.
• Take accountability for your team’s deliverables, ensuring software is designed and built to a high standard, adhering to the team’s Definition of Done.
• Drive innovation by leveraging cutting-edge AI tools to enhance workflows and outcomes, enabling your team to maximise their potential.

Your skills and experiences might also include:

• Proficiency in front-end and back-end technologies, including Java, React, TypeScript, SQL databases, and CSS pre-processors like Sass or Less.
• Experience with automated build and deployment tools such as Azure DevOps, Git-based source control, and Docker.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure and AWS, including PaaS services such as App Service, CosmosDB, Service Bus, Kubernetes, ECS, and Lambda.
• Knowledge of accessibility requirements and test automation for both front-end and integration layers.
