Purpose of Position
To provide the manufacturing team with high-quality product information by ensuring drawing packets are accurate and submitted on time.
Position Overview
The Engineering Support Drafter at Prestwick plays a key role in keeping our production processes running smoothly by verifying order details from our business systems, ensuring that we have accurate DXFs to be programmed for our CNC routers, detailing clear and concise drawings for our fabricators, and reviewing BOM accuracy for our assembly team.
Because our products feature straightforward, streamlined designs, the primary focus will be on accuracy and organization rather than complex engineering tolerances. Drafters collaborate with the Engineering, Production, Sales, and Customer Service teams as necessary to ensure that we’re providing the best product to our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review documentation in our NetSuite and Salesforce systems for accuracy to ensure we’re producing the correct customized product.
- Communicate with other colleagues on the engineering, production, sales, and customer service teams as needed to ensure accuracy.
- Review SolidWorks models of products and draft drawings for the associated parts.
- Make basic modifications to our SolidWorks parts and assemblies as necessary.
- Detail drawings for all parts based on current company standards and collaborate with the team to update and document additional standards.
- Take the digital outputs from our various business systems and print them to create paper packets for each work order that goes into production.
- Collaborate with peers in the engineering department that will help review and process the daily work.
- Multitask and prioritize work appropriate to keep multiple orders flowing through the system.
- Continue to be detail oriented. Execute review of raw materials used in a product and translation of legacy information into current material format.
- Offer respect to all in the work environment, adhere to high personal standards of acceptance, reliability, openness, and consistency of action.
- Work to help move the department forward. This is done through a multitude of value-add projects.
- Maintain a clean and orderly working environment.

What Success Looks Like
Consistently outputting accurate work order packets on time with properly detailed drawings and precise BOMs. Effectively communicating with team members and other departments to create positive experiences for our internal and external customers.
QualificationsQualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- SolidWorks CAD experience is preferred but not required
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret CAD and product information
- Excellent verbal and digital communication skills
- A logical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve alone or as part of a team
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Frequently required to talk, hear, sit, twist, use hands/ fingers to push, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Regularly required to stand and walk.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
- Frequently walk onto the manufacturing floor and wear PPE.
