About the role: 

Due to internal movement, we now have an opportunity for an Engineering Services Manager to join our team in Cairns supporting Norsta Maritime to maintain the Navy patrol boats and hydrographic vessels.  You will be responsible for the delivery of the engineering services under the Regional Maintenance Provider - North East contract. 

This role will be highly rewarding as it centres around the success of delivering Navy's Patrol and Hydrographic capability in the Far North. 

What you will be involved in: 

 The Engineering Services Manager supports planning, preparation and delivery of maintenance to Products being Supported (PBS) by providing engineering services in line with the Authorised Engineering Organisation Application – ENG-500 and the Maritime Sustainment Model. The Engineering Services Manager is responsible for the management and programming of engineering services relating to maintenance execution including:

  • Configuration management
  • Management of technical and engineering data.
  • Technical and defect investigations
  • Class Society compliance
  • Design and Product Baseline compliance
  • Requirements for Change/Deviations incorporation
  • Technical Risk Management
  • AIC and Regional Development
  • Reporting on continual improvement services
  • Authorised Engineering Organisation Application ENG-500 

What we would like from you: 

  • Thorough understanding of Defence Technical/N4 Library, RPEQ certification and professional engineering requirements in a RAN context 
  • Significant engineering experience in a Defence environment 
  • Team management experience 
  • Ability to mentor and build capability in individuals and teams
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) 
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience 
  • Australian Citizen with an active Baseline AGSVA Security Clearance
