Summary 

The addition of an Engineering Resource Planning Administrator is essential to optimize our project planning and ensure efficient allocation of our engineering talent. This role will work with Chief Engineering to compile engineering demand and enter the demand in the resource planning tool.  You will work with functional managers to ensure resources are allocated based on demand.  The role will coordinate with multiple engineering organizations with diverse perspectives. The role will centralize resource scheduling, identify resource conflicts, and improve project delivery timelines to support our business growth objectives.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Chief Engineers to compile project resource demands [Excel]. 

  • Enter and maintain accurate resource supply and demand in resource planning tool [Replicon]. 

  • Monitor resource allocation and availability, helping resolve any scheduling conflicts or bottlenecks. 

  • Collaborate with Chief Engineers to better understand resource needs and deadlines. 

  • Communicate with functional managers in shifts in demand schedules or scope, and potential risks to project stakeholders. 

  • Serve as the central point of contact for resource-related inquiries. Collaborate with Chief Engineers and functional managers to resolve conflicts, adjust resource plans, and communicate changes effectively. 

  • Forecasting future resource needs based on the project pipeline. 

  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline resource management processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs. 

  • Utilize and manage resource planning software and other tools, such as project management software, spreadsheets, and databases. 

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or Engineering fields 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Detailed understanding of project lifecycle and schedule  

  • Experience in data entry 

  • Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various engineering disciplines and perspectives. 

  • Proficiency in resource management software, project management tools (e.g., Replicon-Polaris, MS Project, Open Plan), and advanced spreadsheet functions (e.g., Microsoft Excel) 

  • Comfortable in high-stress environment working with demanding senior-level engineers. 

  • Positive, can-do attitude. 

 

Security Responsibilities 

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.  Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.  All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.  

  •  Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance 

 

Work Environment 

  • Work is sometimes performed in an environment where irritants such as noise, temperature, and lighting variations may exist, but there is little chance of injury, accident, or occupational health problems.  In-person and video conferences are common.  Moderate to high levels of stress are sometimes experienced with this position.  This is a full-time, in-office position. 

 

Physical Demands 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  

  • Ability to operate a personal computer and sit at a workstation for extended periods 

  • May be required to climb stairs.
