Job Description:
The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for deploying his/her engineering know-how to successfully scope, execute, and deliver capital projects to the business that provide a competitive advantage. They will be responsible for managing all aspects of capital projects up to $10M in value. The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for the design and installation of projects across multiple sites and all aspects of engineering functional areas. The Project Manager is an active member of the Engineering team and extended project team(s) as assigned.
Travel 20%-50% depending on project cycle and complexity.
What are we looking for?Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related scientific or technical disciplines would be required.
Relevant 2+ year engineering capital project management experience in closely related industry would be required with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proven ability to work in a team environment and on high performing teams.
Strong communication, listening, and influencing skills.
Provide leadership of the complete capital project process including pre-engineering design, estimating, equipment procurement, installation, startup and project close out.
Manage engineering consultants, installation contractors and equipment vendors to deliver scope, schedule, and budget of assigned capital projects.
Engage extended project team members including production, maintenance, quality, R&D, and safety to ensure alignment on critical success factors.
Foster open relationships, motivate teams, and ensure strong collaboration to support successful implementation of capital projects and to drive excellence in execution.
Perform effective risk and issue management to minimize/mitigate risks and issues throughout the capital project process.
Actively participate in the development of engineering standards and tools to proactively drive practices and methodologies that increase the effectiveness and reduce the costs of engineering.
Ensure project activities comply with and reinforce safety, security and environmental policies.
