This role leads product development and commercialization programs that advance strategic growth objectives, guiding cross-functional teams through the New Product Commercialization Framework (NPCF) to deliver innovative, compliant, and manufacturable medical device solutions from opportunity assessment through commercial launch.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Lead programs through all phases of the New Product Commercialization Framework (NPCF-Global and NPCF-Lite projects), from opportunity assessment through commercial launch, ensuring achievement of program objectives, timelines, and business outcomes.
  2. Serve as the primary program leader and cross-functional coordinator, aligning engineering, operations, quality, regulatory, supply chain, commercial, and customer stakeholders to execute strategic program objectives.
  3. Develop and maintain integrated program plans, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and critical deliverables, ensuring proactive management of program performance.
  4. Build and maintain trusted customer relationships, positioning the organization as a strategic development and manufacturing partner for medical device OEMs.
  5. Lead program governance activities, including Stage Gate Reviews, executive updates, and steering committee presentations, ensuring informed decision making and adherence to Stage Gate requirements.
  6. Drive risk identification, mitigation planning, and issue resolution through active management of program risk registers, escalations, and contingency plans.
  7. Ensure compliance with applicable quality, regulatory, and design control requirements, including design inputs, design outputs, verification, validation, and production transfer activities.
  8. Manage program financial performance, including development revenue, non-recurring engineering (NRE), budget accountability, scope management, purchase order coverage, and forecasting.
  9. Lead commercialization and technology transfer activities to support sustainable, efficient, repeatable, and scalable manufacturing operations across global sites.
  10. Support business growth through participation in customer strategy discussions, opportunity assessments, establishing business cases, and development of program execution strategies.
  11. Communicate program status, risks, financial performance, and key decisions clearly and effectively to customers, leadership teams, and internal stakeholders.
  12. Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance commercialization effectiveness, project execution, customer experience, and organizational capability.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or a related technical discipline.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification required.
  • 10+ years of experience leading complex product development, commercialization, or manufacturing programs within a regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in new product development, design controls, technology transfer, and commercialization processes.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders across engineering, operations, quality, regulatory, supply chain, commercial, and customer organizations without direct authority.
  • Strong understanding of program management disciplines, including scope, schedule, resource planning, risk management, financial management, and stage-gate governance.
  • Experience managing program financial performance, including budgets, forecasting, business cases, development revenue, and resource planning.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 13485, medical device design controls, and regulated product development requirements.
  • Experience in medical device contract design, development, or manufacturing environments.
  • Ability and willingness to work primarily onsite, preferably in Minneapolis, to facilitate cross-functional collaboration, customer engagement, and program execution.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Works with minimal supervision from manager.  Requires light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities.

Skills Required
