Job Description:

Within the Nantes Product and Test team, the Engineering Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining technical databases to support engineering activities at Nantes and production runs for new products, as well as for managing databases for released products. In addition, the role oversees logistics related to sample generation activities within the Nantes engineering areas and prepares purchase requests to meet the material requirements of the Nantes Product and Test group.

More details on the expectations and responsibilities in this position:

  • Validate the consistency and completeness of requests and information provided by the Product Engineers.
  • Generate the files required for the creation of new products (PSI/CPN/MPC), in accordance with inputs from Product Engineers and the applicable standard rules. Issue Change Notices to DMS, following the defined approval loops.
  • Resolve coding issues in collaboration with the relevant individuals.
  • Validate the consistency of information related to purchase requests provided by the Product Engineers.
  • Create purchase requests in InforLN based on the elements specified by Product Engineers and the generic rules applicable to the creation of purchase requests. Submit the purchase request for approval and monitor the creation of orders.
  • Manage the follow-up of engineering lots at the Nantes site, including lot creation, receipt, and movement in MES. Collect and update lot-related data in the MES system. Prepare documentation and communication materials for the shipment and receipt of wafers and packaged parts and support the local team in the preparation and packaging of wafers and components.

 Responsibilities exercised and scope of action:

  • Ensure, under occasional supervision from the Manager, the accuracy of the data formatted for DMS, InforLN, and MES based on the technical inputs provided by the Product Engineers.
  • Ensure full traceability of engineering lots and their shipment to the various MCHP sites.
  • Ensure the timely creation of purchase requests for the new products development needs.

Internal / External Working Relationships

  • Hierarchical: Reports to the Manager.
  • Functional:
    • Collaborates with onsite Product Engineers, Test Engineers, and Test Architects on new product creation, purchase requests, and sample management activities.
    • Obtains relevant information from Marketing within their area of responsibility.
    • Communicates with requesters to clarify required information, applicable rules, and any changes to those rules.
    • Reviews priorities with the Manager as needed.
    • Coordinates with counterparts at other MCU sites to ensure consistency in methods and practices.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Qualification :

BAC +2 minimum (BTS / BUT) with specializations in logistics, production, or maintenance.

Minimum Experience : 1 to 2 years

Specific Professional Knowledge

  • Advanced proficiency in office tools, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • In-depth knowledge of product coding standards (PSI, MPC, CPN).
  • Strong understanding of product creation processes and related specifications.
  • Knowledge of package types and applicable marking rules.
  • Proficiency in the use of InforLN for purchase request creation.
  • Working knowledge of the MES tool for sample management.
  • Understanding sample handling procedures and ESD rules.
  • Strong written English communication skills. Spoken English is beneficial.
