What You'll Do
Lead the Team
Coach and develop Manufacturing Engineers, Process Engineers, and Technicians across the full product lifecycle
Run one-on-ones focused on growth, not just status
Bridge engineering and the business — translate customer needs into priorities, communicate constraints clearly
Negotiate timelines fairly and resolve conflict without sacrificing morale or standards
Own the Process
Drive process design, optimization, automation, and standardization across machining, assembly, and secondary ops
Lead hands-on CI tied to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost
Champion structured problem-solving, standard work, visual management, and data-driven decisions
Define and track 5–8 KPIs; review job routers before release
Cross-Functional & Capital
Partner daily with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Sales
Own capital planning: equipment selection, installation, validation, commissioning
Support new product/process launches — DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, control plans
Keep engineering change management tight and consistent
Technical Leadership
Serve as the site's technical escalation point and manufacturing SME
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, and quality standards
Flex into off-shift/weekend support as needed
What You Bring
Required
8+ years in manufacturing/process engineering in a precision environment
4+ years leading engineering teams
Strong precision CNC background; expert CAD/CAM (Autodesk, SolidWorks, Mastercam)
Solid PLC programming; working knowledge of lean/CI methods
Applied GD&T; ERP experience (Epicor or equivalent); ISO 9001/AS9100 familiarity
Bachelor's in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Preferred
Advanced degree/certifications, metallurgy background, Six Sigma or similar

Equally comfortable in a strategy meeting or on the shop floor. You lead with clarity, hold a high bar, and move fast without cutting corners.
Skills Required
- 8+ years in manufacturing or process engineering within a precision manufacturing environment
- 4+ years leading or managing engineering teams
- Strong background in precision CNC manufacturing
- Expert-level proficiency in CAD/CAM systems (Autodesk, SolidWorks, Mastercam)
- Solid PLC programming skills (troubleshooting, optimization, logic interfaces)
- Strong working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
- Applied understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings
- Experience with ERP systems (Epicor or equivalent)
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or extensive equivalent experience)
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications
- Metallurgy or materials background
- Six Sigma or similar formal continuous improvement certification
