The opportunity:

Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products, Solutions and Services.  Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications, including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil, chemical and gas, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor and data centers, as well as building and transportation sectors. 
Nearly half of our white-collar workforce comprises employees in engineering and scientific fields. Internally, we have targeted talent development programs for employees at different stages of their career development to build skills and competencies, foster training, support people to own career development, scale up organization for growth and execution. Create and modify designs of equipment including standard specifications for manufacturing for assignments classified as low to medium complexity by applying standard concepts.

How you’ll make an impact

1. You will lead, mentor, and develop the team, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment, oversee the full lifecycle of engineering projects, from conceptualization and planning to execution, testing, and deployment.
2. You will define technical roadmaps, set clear project goals, and ensure alignment with overall company objectives.
3. You will collaborate with product management, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
4. You will manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively, identifying and mitigating potential risks, drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.
5. You will stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure Hitachi Energy remains at the forefront of innovation.

6. You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
1. Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, or related field.
2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering role, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management position.
3. Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex engineering projects.
4. Strong technical expertise in relevant domains.

5. Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop engineering talent.
6. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
