Position Overview
Autodesk is looking for an Engineering Manager to join Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering (CIPE) department within the Enterprise Systems & Experience organization. We are looking for a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic thinking to guide operational efficiency and support our goals. You will lead a team of engineers in creating CI/CD pipelines, establishing infrastructure, and ensuring the ongoing availability of high-quality experience on the CI pipelines. Your technical skills include experience with orchestration platforms, proficiency in automation, infrastructure-as-code tools and concepts, familiarity with configuration management tools, and experience with product and services. You will report to Senior Manager. This job role workplace will be hybrid and job base location be Bangalore.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Lead a Team of DevOps Engineers. Set performance goals, develop career paths, provide guidance, conduct performance reviews, and mentor engineers to grow their careers and develop their talent
Operational Excellence: Enhance engineering efficiency, identifying opportunities, and influencing continuous improvement. Lead a team using DevOps methodology and up-to-date engineering best practices. Help engineering teams to achieve higher levels of process
Operational Standards: Develop operational standards, including MTTR and MTTA, to support Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Continuously monitor and improve these standards to enhance services reliability and availability
Continuous Optimisation: Monitor industry best practices, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for operational improvements and innovation. Drive process optimisations via automation initiatives, and adoption of modern technologies to optimize engineering operations. Be an active thought leader to internalize trends for better outcomes
Strategic Planning with Stakeholders: Help partners and development teams achieve customer satisfaction outcomes. Plan, develop strategies and roadmap aligned with our goals. Identify areas for improvement, propose solutions, and implement projects to enhance operational efficiency and security. Collaborate with internal SW development managers to share best practices, dependencies, and results
Team Management: Inspire, motivate, and coach team members with creativity, innovation, and efficiency. Hire and nurture your team with Autodesk culture code in mind. Provide technical guidance, mentorship to team members. Support your team's growth around customer-centricity and customer empathy
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent with minimum of 12+ years of experience in software industry
Experience including 5+ years' experience as a DevOps Expert, Architect or similar role
Experience including 5+ years of leading software engineering teams with official management responsibilities (hiring, developing, coaching)
Experience leading a team, including performance management, coaching, and career development
Experience with DevOps frameworks and implementing DevOps infrastructure (i.e., CI/CD, automation, IaC)
Excellent knowledge of DevOps principles and practices
Experienced with Continuous Integration tooling (Jenkins, GitHub, JIRA)
Experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle from analysing the needs to delivery of working software
Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and services (Azure)
Comfortable working within a globally distributed team, and within a hybrid/remote working model
Experience in Azure Cloud and cloud migrations
Proficiency in Groovy, PowerShell and Python
