We are looking for an Engineering Manager for a defense tech solutions company. This person will lead an engineering team, ensuring successful product development and effective communication among all stakeholders.

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing R&D projects- from idea generation and validation to product launch and production support. Your role will cover key areas: technology, people, product, and processes.


Responsibilities

Technology Management (Tech & People Management):

  • Understanding the scope of technical solutions and proposing optimal options.

  • System design, the ability to distinguish high‑quality solutions from poor ones, and explain them to the business.

  • Balancing new feature implementation with reducing technical debt.

  • Motivating the team and creating a comfortable working environment.

  • Effective collaboration with other teams.

  • Working with technologies: radio communication, navigation, and autonomy.

Product Development (Product Management):

  • Product development from proof of concept to mass production.

  • Collaboration with other departments to define development priorities.

  • Deep domain understanding and data‑driven decision‑making.

  • Backlog creation aligned with the product development strategy.

Process Management:

  • Ensuring efficiency of work processes (mix of Waterfall and Scrum).

  • Tracking project progress and controlling deadlines.

  • Implementing additional processes around development (PDLC, QA, CI/CD) when needed.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Technical education- preferably in avionics, electronics, mechatronics, radio engineering, or related fields.

  • Experience and knowledge in hardware product development and design.

  • Experience managing technical teams, including task allocation, resource planning, and performance monitoring.

  • Understanding challenges faced by developers at different stages of product creation.

  • Leadership and organizational skills; ability to build strong teamwork.
