About the team:
This team owns the backend systems that power our subscription, billing, and payment platforms, ensuring secure, scalable, and seamless experiences for millions of customers worldwide. We build and maintain services for invoicing, payments, and financial reporting, designed for reliability and performance. Our systems enable seamless integration across commerce and finance ecosystems, and we collaborate closely with product, finance, and engineering teams to deliver robust APIs using modern technologies and cloud-native services.

Who will you work with?
What are some of the exciting challenges you will be working on?
- Lead and mentor a distributed backend engineering team, fostering collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and driving career growth
- Own technical delivery of backend commerce systems, ensuring scalable, secure platforms integrated with adjacent systems
- Drive software development best practices, including code quality, architecture, and modern frameworks
- Establish operational excellence, with processes for reliability, uptime, performance monitoring, and robust incident management
- Implement automation and efficiency improvements across development and operations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Finance, Marketing, and stakeholders to align commerce capabilities with business goals and manage roadmap execution
- Optimize legacy systems and architect new backend services for commerce workflows, entitlement management, and payment integrations
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, performing code reviews, contributing to API development, and maintaining high engineering standards
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies to keep systems modern and competitive
- Partner strategically across teams to deliver technical solutions that meet business objectives and enhance commerce experiences
What does it take to work at LastPass?
- Proven engineering management experience with a strong software engineering background
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and distributed systems
- Skilled in CI/CD pipelines, observability tools (e.g., Datadog), and incident management
- Deep understanding of software engineering principles, OOP, and microservices design patterns
- Proficient in API design, integration strategies, and agile methodologies (scrum, sprint planning, release management)
- Track record of building and leading diverse teams, mentoring senior engineers
- Strong communication skills to explain complex technical details to stakeholders and peers
- Experienced in engaging with customers, PMs, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams
- Highly adaptable and quick to learn new technologies and environments
- Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
It's great, but not required:
- Hands‑on experience with Zuora Billing/RevPro, eCommerce integrations, and .Net framework
- Familiarity with global standards such as PCI-DSS, GDPR, and SOC frameworks and financial audit processes
- Experience building and maintaining subscription, billing, and payment platforms with high availability and scalability
