You will partner closely with global engineering teams—across Manufacturing Engineering, NPI, and R&D—to ensure strong technology transfer, optimize yield and productivity, and deliver high-quality output that meets both customer and business expectations.

This position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to develop a high-performing engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & People Development

  • Foster a culture built on collaboration, continuous improvement, and disciplined execution.

Process & Manufacturing Excellence

  • Oversee all engineering activities supporting high-precision manufacturing operations.

  • Ensure process stability, yield performance, and quality targets are consistently achieved.

  • Provide technical leadership for complex problem-solving and root-cause analysis.

  • Approve engineering changes, process controls, documentation, and data-driven reports.

  • Maintain strong engineering discipline aligned with company standards and customer requirements.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Lead NPI readiness, qualification, pilot build activities, and ramp-to-production planning.

  • Work closely with global R&D and overseas engineering teams to ensure smooth technology transfer.

  • Support sample builds, trials, engineering evaluations, and product qualification cycles.

Equipment, Tools & Technology Management

  • Oversee installation, validation, and release of production equipment and tooling.

  • Ensure preventive/predictive maintenance programs support yield and production goals.

  • Drive continuous improvement in test systems, assembly processes, and optical/precision technologies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary technical interface among Engineering, Production, Quality, NPI, and global partners.

  • Lead technical reviews, daily engineering discussions, and cross-site communication.

  • Support factory readiness, capacity planning, cost-reduction initiatives, and productivity programs.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Optics, Mechatronics, Physics, or a related engineering field.

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in high-technology manufacturing (optics, photonics, telecom, semiconductor, electronics, or related industries).

  • Strong background in process, test, or manufacturing engineering.

  • Proven track record in leading and developing engineering teams.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges.

  • Strong English communication skills for global teamwork and collaboration.

  • Experience driving yield improvement, cost reduction, and process optimization initiatives.

  • Solid understanding of SPC, PFMEA/DFMEA, MSA, and data analysis tools (Minitab/JMP).

  • Strong capability in engineering documentation, process development, and NPI execution.

Preferred

  • Hands-on experience in optical assembly, precision assembly, fiber handling, or optical testing.

  • Experience working with international teams across North America and Asia.

  • Lean, Six Sigma, or project management certification.
