About the Role
We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead and inspire a high-performing team of engineers. This role requires a strong background in embedded software development and the ability to balance technical leadership with people management.
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will oversee new product development, drive robust architecture solutions, and foster a collaborative team environment. You will also be responsible for aligning the team’s efforts with business objectives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality embedded software solutions that meet the stringent requirements of the aerospace industry.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:Leadership & Team Management- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing.
- Provide coaching and professional development opportunities for team members to help them grow beyond their comfort zones.
Technical Expertise
- Drive the development of robust, scalable, and efficient embedded software architectures.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards (e.g., DO-178C, ISO 26262) and best practices in software engineering.
- Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and bug-fixing activities.
New Product Development
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute new product development projects.
- Define project roadmaps, allocate resources, and manage timelines and deliverables.
- Champion Agile methodologies to ensure a flexible and efficient development process.
Talent Acquisition & Staffing
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of top engineering talent.
- Assess team needs and align staffing levels with business demands and project objectives.
Budget Management
- Develop and manage the annual team budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Monitor expenses and report on budget usage to leadership.
Strategic Alignment
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends in embedded systems and aerospace software.
- Align team efforts with the company’s long-term strategic goals.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Skills
- Strong background in embedded software development (e.g., C, Bare metal, real-time systems).
- Deep understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile frameworks.
- Experience in designing scalable and robust software architectures for embedded systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards for regulated environments (e.g., DO-178C, ISO 26262, or IEC 62304).
Leadership Skills
- Proven experience leading and managing software engineering teams.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate individuals to excel.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and decision-making skills.
Communication Skills
- Refined communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Fluent in English and Polish, both written and spoken.
Industry Experience
- Proven experience in the aerospace, automotive, medical, or power/energy industries is preferred.
- Experience working in an international environment with cross-functional and culturally diverse teams.
- Salary range from 18 000 to 27 000 PLN gross – depending on experiece
