Why this role matters:We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a brand new Engineering team that you will help recruit. This team will look after strategic Compliance and Regulations automation and tooling, allowing the company to successfully navigate an ever increasingly complex global compliance landscape.
Your key responsibilities:As a leader in our engineering department, you will be responsible for guiding the team through the development lifecycle and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services.
At Vonage, Engineering Manager roles are technical: we expect you to write code as part of your role, as well as lead the team during design sessions, help coach junior members of the team, and set high Engineering standards.
What you'll bring- Strong hands-on coding experience and knowledge in backend, frontend and data-driven environments
- Working with Agile methodologies
- Leading a team of 4 to 6 developers
- You would have a value-driven and principle approach rather than a dogmatic one
- You understand architecture and can take part in discussions
- You look outside your team responsibilities and try to improve the organisation as a whole
Experience we consider a plus:
- At least one of Java, Golang, Kotlin, Python or a similar programming language
- Knowledge and experience with data pipelines (Kafka or similar)
- Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS preferable)
