We’re looking for a UK-based Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Growth Initiative. This initiative’s mission is to help Depop expand into new markets and help millions of new users discover our community. You’ll be leading squads responsible for our Web buying experience, SEO and Marketing Technology, and play a pivotal role in scaling our paid marketing efforts, improving our new user experience on web, and driving purchases, signups and app downloads.

Key challenges you’ll lead the teams through include integrating new Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) to enhance marketing audience segmentation and unlock new data capabilities, improving global privacy and consent management systems, and building engaging, data-driven web experiences that deliver personalized user journeys.

This is a great opportunity to combine technical leadership with real business impact: managing the initiative that is the front door of Depop, powering new user growth, while shaping the future of how fashion resale reaches the world. The role manages managers, staff engineers and other ICs, while reporting to a Senior Engineering Director.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver high impact solutions

  • Lead your squads to ship high-quality, data-driven solutions that directly improve user acquisition and paid marketing effectiveness. You’ll own delivery and ensure your team’s work translates into measurable growth.
     

  • Lead and support your squads

  • Manage 2 cross-functional squads of 3–6 engineers, with a growth opportunity to manage other managers. Your focus will be on enabling them to perform at their best while fostering happiness, motivation, and resilience. Hands-on contribution is encouraged, but your superpower is leadership.

  • Collaborate across functions

  • Partner with product, design, marketing, analytics and data to define priorities, align on goals, set strategic objectives and drive results across the Growth pillar.

  • Shape culture

  • Champion inclusion, diversity, and team health. Foster a culture of curiosity, respect, and continuous improvement, aligned with Depop’s values and community-first DNA.

What we’re looking for

We’d love to hear from you if you have some of the following:

  • A track record as an Engineering Manager building high-performing teams, delivering impactful roadmaps, and growing engineers and other managers.

  • Experience in MarTech/AdTech - from product catalogues and conversion data to targeting, measurement, and the evolving privacy landscape.

  • Experience in New User Acquisition/Growth in an e-commerce environment - from SEO and Marketing to Site Performance to Search and Product Landing Page experiences.

  • A strong sense of ownership and delivery mindset — you love solving complex problems across domains, and making a big  impact.

  • Great decision-making skills under ambiguity, with a bias towards simplicity and execution.

  • Excellent stakeholder management: aligning diverse goals to deliver outcomes everyone’s proud of.

  • Alignment with our Depop DNA — showing up for the community, having each other’s backs, acting with purpose, and keeping sustainability and thrift front of mind.
