The Role: 

As an Engineering Manager, you will be joining a Product Engineering organisation that is 100% dedicated to ensuring that our sports and gaming products deliver first-class experiences to our players and agent partners.

You will have a great understanding of the modern architectural and engineering practices that underpin highly successful solutions, with real experience of high volume, low latency and complex systems. You will work hand-in-glove with Product Managers, operational country leads and architects and leaders from other Squads to design, build, deliver and run our platform, ensuring our output is demonstrably of the highest quality and performance.

What you will be doing:

  • Design it: Collaborate with your team to architect solutions that are forward-thinking and scalable.
  • Build it: Take the lead in developing the solution, actively participating in back-end, front-end, and testing efforts.
  • Automate it: Drive automation of testing and deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Run it: Take ownership of our product from end to end, ensuring smooth operation and support in production environments.
  • Develop talent: Recruit, nurture, and mentor team members to foster a strong and capable engineering team.
  • Collaborate: Engage with cross-functional teams to lead and contribute to company-wide initiatives.

What you need for this role:

  • Proven ability to lead and manage engineers, with a track record of successful line management of engineers in back-end, front-end, and QA specializations.
  • A deep passion for technology, demonstrated by strong expertise in either back-end or front-end development, ideally proficient in both (C#, SQL Server, and/or React).
  • Hands-on experience with distributed, high-volume products, handling at least 100 transactions per second or managing 1 million page views per month.
  • Bonus points for experience with distributed architectures using messaging technologies such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
  • Understanding of cloud-based infrastructure and proficiency in modern DevOps practices, specifically with Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps.
  • Familiarity with containerization tools like AKS and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, where adaptability and quick problem-solving are essential.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for seamless collaboration within the team and across departments.
