A role for a leader of people, process, and projects with experience in modern delivery methodologies. Drives software engineers and testers to high performance while driving a team to high-quality continuous delivery. Provides excellent care and feeding of team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage Software Engineers and Quality Engineers
    • Hire and retain strong talent for diverse, inclusive, and high-performing teams
  • Lead, mentor, and coach talent, and help them to progress in their careers
  • Empower teams to achieve high technical productivity, reliability, and simplicity
  • Hold teams accountable to a strong delivery pace, to building and maintaining appropriate skills and abilities, to following and improving our processes, and to living our core values
  • Bring valuable work to completion
    • Work with Product Managers to determine feature scope and engineers to determine the scope of technical projects
    • Set delivery expectations and keep stakeholders updated as work progresses
    • Ensure that customer-reported defects are repaired within SLOs and that security vulnerabilities are addressed
    • Bring clarity when faced with ambiguity; motivate and guide the team through complex problem-solving
    • Drive a culture of experimentation and measurement
  • Drive a strong delivery pace
    • With Product Management, ensure that work is broken into small chunks
    • Drive a daily deployment cadence to keep work moving rapidly to Production
    • Keep the team focused
    • Ensure quarterly OKRs are achieved
  • Represent your teams to the larger org, ensuring they receive public recognition for their success and take ownership of their failures
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with key leaders to drive projects forward, serve our customers well, and advance initiatives to help your teams execute better

Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years in technical roles in SaaS software development environments
  • 1+ year of management experience or 3+ years of technical team leadership experience
  • Ability to work well with others and collaborate across teams
  • Outstanding communication skills - writing, speaking, and listening
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills

This role can be located within the United States or Canada. The base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $145,000, though the actual base salary is determined by factors such as, but not limited to, experience, education, skills, and geographic location. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation and equity.
