At LiquidStack, we’re redefining what’s possible in the data center world. As a global leader in advanced liquid cooling solutions, we’re powering the future of AI, edge computing, and high-performance systems. Our team is growing, and we’re looking for skilled professionals who want to be part of something innovative and impactful.
LiquidStack is the established leader in liquid cooling for data center, HPC, and AI workloads, with manufacturing, R&D, and headquarters in Carrollton, Texas and a longstanding engineering presence in Hong Kong. As part of Trane Technologies, we are scaling our US-based engineering capability to augment our Hong Kong team. The new Texas engineering team will focus on the design, development, and delivery of large Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs) and skidded direct-to-chip platforms — including our GigaModular™ CDU family — for hyperscale, colocation, and AI infrastructure customers. The team will own manufacturability, ETL /CSA / CE / NRTL compliance, and customer-facing engineering for these product families, working in close collaboration with the Hong Kong team on shared architecture and component engineering. The Engineering Manager is the foundational leadership hire for the Texas site and is responsible for standing up the team, defining its operating cadence, and delivering against the US product roadmap.
The Engineering Manager will lead the US engineering organization with full ownership of the skidded and modular CDU product lines, including the GigaModular™ CDU platform. This individual is accountable for technical execution, team development, customer engineering engagement, and tight coordination with the Hong Kong engineering team on shared platforms and components.
Key Responsibilities
▪ Build, lead, and develop the US engineering team of approximately 15 engineers and technicians across mechanical, electrical, controls, test, production, and documentation disciplines.
▪ Own end-to-end engineering delivery of LiquidStack's skidded and modular CDU platforms, from concept through NPI, qualification, and sustaining.
▪ Partner with the Global Product Manager and Hong Kong engineering leadership to align roadmaps, share architecture, and avoid duplication of effort.
▪ Establish engineering processes, design review gates, documentation standards, and change-control practices appropriate to a regulated, customer-facing hardware business.
▪ Serve as the senior engineering interface for key US hyperscale and colocation customers, including technical reviews, design qualification, and on-site support escalations.
▪ Drive design-for-manufacturability with the Carrollton manufacturing site and US contract manufacturers; own ETL / CSA / CE / NRTL compliance posture for US-built product.
▪ Manage capital and operating budgets for the US engineering function; forecast headcount and tooling needs.
▪ Coach engineers, run performance reviews, and build a healthy engineering culture in a greenfield site within an established, post-acquisition organization.
Required Qualifications
▪ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
▪ 10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 4 years managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
▪ Demonstrated delivery of complex, skidded or enclosure-based industrial products (data center cooling, power distribution, process equipment, or similar).
▪ Strong working knowledge of US manufacturing practices, UL listings, NEC, and ASME / industry codes relevant to liquid cooling and electrical distribution.
▪ Track record of building or scaling an engineering team from a small base.
▪ Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to executive customers and internal leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
▪ Direct experience with Coolant Distribution Units, chiller plants, or large-format thermal management systems for data centers.
▪ Experience working across US and Asia-based engineering teams.
▪ Familiarity with hyperscale customer qualification processes and direct-to-chip cooling architectures.

What We Do
In 2014, a small team of engineers gathered in a Hong Kong high-rise. Working in space smaller than a standard shipping container, we created the next revolution in immersion cooling. Meet LiquidStack, the world's largest liquid cooling provider for hyperscale, edge and high performance computing. The pioneers of 2-phase immersion cooling, LiquidStack holds multiple awards for building the world's most efficient data centers. Our cooling technology, products and services play a vital role in reducing energy consumption, cutting e-waste and massively lowering greenhouse emissions. Formerly Allied Control Limited (ACL), the company was founded with the sole purpose of driving continued performance gains in computing through our breakthrough technology and unmatched experience deploying liquid cooled data centers at scale. While we embrace all forms of liquid cooling, 2-phase immersion outperforms the alternatives across every possible metric: heat rejection capacity, energy efficiency, water usage, space utilization, flexibility and positive, sustainable climate impact. Our goal is to do more than simply change minds. We aim to change the world for the better.
