Engineering Manager, Web Platform
Skillsoft is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Web Platform team for our Codecademy Product Line. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of our core web infrastructure, ensuring a seamless and engaging learning experience for our millions of users.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of talented engineers specializing in front-end architecture, design systems, and learner experience
- Drive the development and implementation of our front-end architecture ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Oversee the design and implementation of our design system Gamut to create a cohesive and consistent user experience across our platform
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders balancing other groups needs with health and future of the platform
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement and outreach within the team, encouraging experimentation and adoption of new technologies
- Champion engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing, and documentation
- Contribute to the growth and development of the engineering team through recruitment, onboarding, and performance management
Skills & Qualification Requirements
- 6+ years of professional engineering experience in web development, with a strong focus on front-end technologies
- 2+ years of experience leading and managing engineering teams
- Deep understanding of front-end architecture principles and design patterns
- Hands-on experience with React, Typescript and design systems
- Experience driving AI adoption using Cursor, Co-Pilot, etc.
- Passion for creating engaging and effective learning experiences
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver updates and presentations to all level of the organization
- Location: Remote East Coast US
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with online education or learning platforms
- Familiarity with DevOps practices
- Contributions to open-source projects
Target salary range for this job requisition is anticipated to be approximately $165,000 to $178,000.
We also offer Enterprise benefits including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, and paid time off.
The company may modify salaries, salary ranges and/or Pay Plans from time to time as it deems necessary.
