ABOUT THE ROLE

FOX Corporation is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager, tvOS to lead our tvOS engineering team responsible for building high-quality, scalable, and reliable applications for the Apple TV platform. You will be responsible for building, mentoring, and scaling a high-performing engineering team while driving technical excellence and delivering world-class streaming experiences.

Our tvOS team is responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance applications that bring FOX's premium content to millions of users on Apple TV devices worldwide. Leveraging Swift, tvOS SDK, AVFoundation, and modern software engineering practices, we build intuitive, responsive, and highly optimized applications that deliver exceptional viewing experiences. The team is committed to engineering excellence, application performance, reliability, and continuous innovation.

As an Engineering Manager – tvOS, you will lead and grow a high-performing engineering team responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality Apple TV applications. You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, Backend Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Architecture teams to build scalable, secure, and user-centric streaming applications while fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of tvOS engineers through coaching, feedback, and career development.

• Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement across the engineering team.

• Drive technical excellence by promoting engineering best practices, code quality, testing, performance optimization, and maintainability.

• Partner with senior engineers to improve application architecture, scalability, video playback performance, and platform reliability.

• Review and guide technical designs and implementation approaches for tvOS platform features and enhancements.

• Balance feature delivery with long-term platform stability, scalability, and technical debt reduction.

• Own the delivery of tvOS initiatives from planning through production releases while ensuring quality and predictability.

• Partner closely with Product Management, UX Design, Backend Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Platform teams to define scope, priorities, and delivery timelines.

• Ensure engineering teams follow Agile development methodologies and continuous integration and delivery practices.

• Monitor delivery progress, proactively identify risks, and remove blockers impacting successful execution.

• Drive engineering operational excellence through CI/CD automation, release management, monitoring, and production support.

• Conduct regular code reviews while establishing high engineering standards and development best practices.

• Mentor engineers in technical growth and support career development through regular coaching and feedback.

• Communicate project status, technical trade-offs, delivery risks, and engineering metrics to senior leadership and stakeholders.

• Align tvOS engineering initiatives with broader Digital Product Engineering goals and platform strategy.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 8+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years leading engineering teams delivering native Apple platform applications.

• Strong hands-on experience with Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, and Apple's development ecosystem.

• Experience building and maintaining high-performance OTT or media streaming applications.

• Strong understanding of application architecture, design patterns, and modern software engineering principles.

• Experience integrating RESTful APIs, authentication services, analytics, and video playback frameworks.

• Proven ability to manage engineering priorities, execution, and stakeholder expectations.

• Experience leading Agile software development teams using Scrum or Kanban methodologies.

• Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, and people management skills.

• Familiarity with performance profiling and debugging tools such as Instruments.

• Experience with Xcode Instrumentation tools for profiling CPU, memory, and rendering performance etc..

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for building high-performing engineering teams.
