The role: Engineering Manager, Technical Configuration
The Operations Configuration team is a mission-critical team that administers the configuration of highly complex and highly customizable client environments. As manager of this team, you will play a key role in managing daily operations, facilitating client requests, and leading initiatives to improve overall capabilities in a dynamic environment.
This role requires an experienced, data-driven leader with excellent cross-functional communication skills and a background in operations, software development, and performance optimization.
What you'll do:

  • Lead by example to grow your team by caring for the team members and supporting the team's operational execution
  • Manage and prioritize client requests against SLOs
  • Navigate complex interdependencies across multiple, cross-functional teams
  • Nurture a culture of continuous improvement, documentation, and blameless retrospection
  • Participate in deep technical design discussions with the team and cross-functional Engineering and Product teams to maintain up-to-date configuration processes
  • Manage documentation and standard operating procedures for audit-sensitive tasks
  • Mentor your team to proactively respond to changing process and client escalations
  • Respond to client requests or escalations with a balance of technical and business acumen to determine what is urgent vs. what is important


What you'll need:

  • 3+ years of experience managing technical teams
  • Consistent track record of performance management and career development of individual contributors
  • Ability to engage in technical and business discussions from both tactical and strategic viewpoints
  • Experience with DevOps and full ownership of services from development to production
  • Ability to balance delivering on business objectives while also protecting the long term quality of platform
  • Experience leading cross-organizational efforts with both technical and business teams to ensure successful delivery


Nice to have:

  • BS/MS in a technical field or similar experience
  • Experience with SQL, SQL Developer, and database management
  • Experience with Python and/or other scripting languages
  • Experience with process automation
  • Experience with Octopus, Argo, GitLab, and/or other deployment tools
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments such as FinTech
  • Credit and/or issuer processing experience


Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.
