Job Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end product development of Seat structures (design, build, validation) in line with SOPs and Product Delivery Process (PDP).
- Translate customer requirements into optimized design solutions considering cost, quality, safety, reliability, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance.
- Apply engineering and analytical tools (QFD, FMEA, DOE, VA/VE, DFM/DFA, Pugh analysis) for product development and decision-making.
- Plan, track, and execute design activities aligned with project timelines and engineering open issues.
- Develop, review, and manage engineering deliverables (DVP&R, GD&T, BOM, specifications, engineering changes, work orders).
- Ensure timely closure of engineering issues and completion of phase-gate deliverables with cross-functional teams (CFT).
- Review and approve designs, drawings, SORs, DVP, and engineering change requests to ensure compliance with design intent.
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, manufacturing, and quality teams for effective project execution and communication.
- Drive testing and validation activities, including DVP finalization.
- Conduct and participate in design reviews (CDR/CCDR) and internal technical reviews.
- Provide technical leadership, training, and guidance to design team members.
- Track engineering budgets and support internal project reviews.
- Promote process efficiency through automation (macros) and maintain proper documentation.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and maintain workplace discipline (5S/housekeeping).
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of product development lifecycle (PDP) and engineering processes.
- Expertise in engineering documentation along with GD&T, BOM, DVP&R, change management.
- Hands-on experience with engineering analysis and problem-solving tools (FMEA, DOE, VA/VE, etc.).
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and ensure delivery against program milestones.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Experience in design review processes, validation, and regulatory compliance.
- Capability to lead teams, mentor engineers, and drive technical excellence.
- Working knowledge of budgeting, documentation, and process improvement tools (e.g., macros).
