Team mission and expectations of the role

• Managers are committed to creating organizational structures and solving organizational issues, creating a place where members can play more active roles
• Mercari's organization has members from a variety of backgrounds. By managing teams with diversified experiences, nationalities, cultures, etc., they are responsible for drawing out the potential of teams and individuals and producing greater results
• Working in a very fast paced environment, quality-focused environment, you will be involved in quality-assurance related activities throughout the entire development process

Work Responsibilities

Specific work responsibilities include the following: 

• Recruiting, training, goal setting, giving evaluation and providing feedback to members
• Maximizing the results of members and supporting their career growth
• Get involved and manage QA tasks across the whole domain of our app
• Assigning members to projects and supporting the communication needed to carry them out

Cross team collaboration with different stakeholders such as project managers, UX designers and engineering managers to propose and execute growth strategies

Unique Challenges

• In this position, you will be responsible for quality assurance for Mercari, a marketplace app with over 20 million monthly active users
• We are looking for people that are interested in our services, mission, and values, and want to work where engineers can go bold, use the latest technology, make autonomous decisions, and take on challenges at a rapid pace
• Apart from that, this position will allow you to think about quality from the customer’s point of view and how to assure quality from scratch

Qualifications

• Required Experience/Skills
• Shared belief in the mission and values of Mercari Group and its various companies
• Motivation to provide a high-quality service for our users
• Leadership and strong communication skills that can motivate and empower others
• Experience in the quality field 
• Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders
• Experience managing projects
• Experience managing engineers
• Preferred Experience/Skills
• Experience in Web/Mobile development 
• Experience writing automated tests, more specifically, in at least one of the following
• XCUITest
• Playwright
• Compose UI / Espresso
• Experience in CI/CD development
• Language 
• English: Independent (CEFR - B2)
• Japanese: Basic (CEFR - A2) preferred
