We’re looking for an Engineering Manager with a strong DevOps background to lead our Platform team at emnify. The team focuses on improving the developer experience across engineering by building better tooling, streamlining automation, and enabling scalable platforms. This is not a service function — it’s about proactively driving technical and cultural improvements across our software development lifecycle. The team combines platform and site reliability engineering expertise to drive improvements across our developer experience and infrastructure. As the manager, you’ll be expected to contribute hands-on 30–50% of the time and collaborate closely with security, infrastructure, and engineering teams.
This position is open Germany- or Poland-wide.
If you’re based in Berlin, we expect you to work from the office three days a week.
If based elsewhere, monthly travel to Berlin is expected.
If relocating, Berlin or Würzburg are preferred locations.
Drive automation and platform improvements to enhance developer workflows and productivity
Lead the design and implementation of scalable internal tooling and shared infrastructure
Build alignment across teams to reduce friction in CI/CD and incident management practices
Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and psychological safety within the team
Shape the technical roadmap and contribute hands-on to key platform engineering projects
Accountability: You take full ownership of your team’s performance, clarifying responsibilities and delivering with consistency
Execution: You turn strategy into action, remove roadblocks, and ensure operational excellence across projects
Decision-making: You use data, input from your team, and context from leadership to guide prioritization and technical direction
Team Building and Development: You coach engineers, close skill gaps, and foster a high-trust, high-performance culture
Technical Competency: You are confident working with AWS and modern DevOps tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD tooling)
