We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Observability team. The team’s mission is to enable engineers at Airtable to build reliable software by providing the tools they need to know about issues before our customers. We are looking for a manager with experience working on Observability systems.
What you'll do
- Serve as the hands-on technical leader of a 4-person (plus plans to grow) Observability software team.
- Develop the vision, identify high-impact early projects, build consensus across the infrastructure org for your proposed architectural evolutions, and deliver your projects.
- Support other engineers on your team and ensure high quality delivery.
- Serve as a steward for the existing components of Airtable’s observability stack including logging, tracing, metrics, profiling, and alerting.
Who you are
- 7+ years in Software Engineering
- 2+ years as the manager of a team
- Experience with building and operating metrics, logging, or tracing systems at a large scale
- Experience with Clickhouse, Grafana, and Open Telemetry preferred

Compensation awarded to successful candidates will vary based on their work location, relevant skills, and experience.

For work locations in the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, New York City, and Los Angeles, the base salary range for this role is:
$240,000—$361,000 USD
