We are looking for two Engineering Manager level 3 to join our team based out of Sunnyvale, CA or Cape Canaveral, FL. These roles are responsible for engineering leadership and technical direction to Marine Systems specializing in the development, manufacture, assembly and testing of Missile Launching systems for next generation naval submarines. The candidates selected will apply their skills to support current and future development of Launcher Systems for Naval Submarines with an integrated engineering team consisting of a diverse staff of backgrounds in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerothermal, Acoustics, Structural and Systems Engineers.

Launcher Execution Engineering Manager Level 3
In this role, the manager will develop and lead a group of engineers through the entire product lifecycle driving engineering execution to support the U.S. Navy driving technical excellence for positive program impact. The position responsibilities include management of time keeping, performance reviews, staffing and resource planning, training, and team engagement. This candidate will work with the Engineering Managers and technical leads to ensure the end-to-end technical execution, cost, schedule, quality, and staffing of development efforts across all Strategic Launcher programs. This position requires multi-discipline knowledge in all areas related to engineering including systems design, hardware, systems engineering, and integration and test. This manager will work closely with Engineering Program Managers to ensure the end-to-end technical execution, cost, schedule, quality and staffing of programs in development, production, and/or sustainment phases.
This ideal candidate will work with the Engineering Managers and technical leads to ensure the end-to-end technical execution, cost, schedule, quality, and staffing of development efforts across all Strategic Launcher programs. This position requires multi-discipline knowledge in all areas related to engineering including systems design, hardware, systems engineering, and integration and test.
Launcher Hardware Engineering Manager Level 3
In this role, the manager will develop and lead a group of engineers through the entire product lifecycle for complex hardware products to support the U.S. Navy driving technical excellence for positive program impact. The position responsibilities include management of time keeping, performance reviews, staffing and resource planning, training, and team engagement. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated aptitude in areas of requirements and interface management and verification, design of fabricated and machined components, design of electrical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic subsystems, CAD modeling / drawing review, and successful execution of technical projects to cost and schedule targets. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated aptitude in areas of requirements and interface management and verification, design of fabricated and machined components, design of electrical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic subsystems, CAD modeling / drawing review, and successful execution of technical projects to cost and schedule targets.
Candidates must have exceptional leadership and teambuilding skills, strategic thinking, strong technical acumen, and the ability to lead multiple engineering disciplines across programs. The candidate will work with cross-discipline team members and therefore must have excellent communication skills, presentation experience and the ability to work seamlessly with a diverse community of engineers and managers to achieve the goals of the organization. The candidate must have the ability to build consensus and resolve conflict. The candidate must collaborate with business area leadership, and other functional partners to resolve complex issues in a timely manner to help meet program commitments.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline) with 8 years of engineering experience; OR a Master's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline) with 6 years of engineering experience.
- 3 years of professional experience in the defense or aerospace industries.
- 2 years demonstrated success managing technical teams.
- 2 years of experience working in a technical role.
- Strong engineering background with demonstrated experience managing through design and production.
- Solid understanding of engineering process with execution experience.
- Experience managing large control accounts with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and technical performance
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance is required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
- A current/active U.S. Government Secret clearance
- Advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical fields.
- Program management experience
- Success as leader of large functional organization
- Experience managing large control accounts with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and technical performance
- Proven success in creating and executing affordability initiatives
