The Growth Products team at Lyft focuses on acquiring and resurrecting riders and drivers efficiently to grow the business and balance the marketplace. We handle critical infrastructure to execute, manage, and optimize growth campaigns for the entire company and move quickly to test and develop new products. The team also manages the marketing tech stack for paid media attribution and campaign optimization, as well as the Lyft website.
We are seeking an Engineering Manager to help the team scale and navigate a number of upcoming challenges, such as preparing our systems to support international markets and improving the usability of our platforms to scale to new use cases.
Responsibilities:- Drive team execution by resolving blockers, mediating decision-making, and navigating ambiguity.
- Maintain operational excellence through implementing best practices for observability, reliability, and on-call processes.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Science, and Analytics) to define the team's strategic direction and roadmap.
- Ensure technical excellence through architecture reviews, tech debt management, and engineering guidance.
- Maintain team health by creating and refining team processes, fostering a supportive team culture, and managing resourcing.
- Develop team member careers by matching them with opportunities, setting clear expectations, and providing timely feedback.
- Build relationships across engineering teams to share learnings, align on standards, and identify collaboration opportunities.
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years in software development.
- At least 3 years of experience with people management.
- Experience working on a growth-focused team/org (incentives, messaging, ads) a plus.
- Experience managing a diverse set of engineering roles, such as backend, web, mobile, and data.

The expected base pay range for this position in the New York City area is $176,000 - $220,000, not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location.
