About this role in the team:

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead, mentor, and drive two high-performing engineering teams — FinCrime and IXP, to deliver scalable and reliable payment solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, partner with product managers, ensure the timely delivery of product increments, and uphold best practices in software development. This role requires a balance of strong technical expertise, hands on approach and exceptional leadership skills to help shape our engineering culture and deliver innovative products with an AI-native mindset, viewing AI as a force-multiplier for engineering velocity.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and mentor a team or two of software engineers(FinCrime and IXP), fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
• Provide technical guidance, career development support, feedback and performance evaluations.
• Identify and recruit top engineering talent who are eager to embrace AI-assisted development to grow the team.
• Establish efficient, AI-augmented ways of working within your teams (e.g., leveraging tools like Claude Code to streamline the SDLC).

 Technical Excellence

• Drive architectural decisions for scalable and secure payment platforms.
• Ensure code quality, system reliability, and adherence to best practices in development and testing, while advocating for AI-driven automation and review processes
• Review and contribute to technical designs and codebases when necessary.

 Project Management

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other stakeholders to define scope, timelines, and deliverables.
• Oversee the planning and execution of sprints, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products using data-driven and AI-assisted insights to improve predictability.
• Identify and mitigate risks throughout the software development lifecycle.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with leadership to align engineering efforts with business goals and priorities
• Serve as a technical point of contact for cross-functional teams, partners, and clients

 Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Advocate for and implement modern, AI-first tools, frameworks, and methodologies to improve team productivity.
• Drive a culture of learning, experimentation, and continuous improvement where the team is encouraged to automate the mundane using AI and focus on high-value engineering.

Experience & Expertise:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 7+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or management role
• Proven track record of managing at least 2 engineering teams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, ideally in fintech or payments
• AI-Fluent Leadership: Demonstrated experience or a clear vision for integrating AI tools (e.g., Claude, etc.) into the engineering lifecycle.
• Strong technical expertise in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Python, Go) and frameworks.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architecture.
• Solid understanding of payments systems, financial protocols (e.g., PCI-DSS, ISO 8583), and security best practices.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps principles.
