Responsibilities
- Play an instrumental role in building and scaling our state-of-the-art time series data platform, currently processing 20M+ workflows daily, with a goal to scale to 200M+ workflows
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of backend engineers working on Java-based, cloud-native SaaS services
- Own the success of your team’s deliverables, driving execution across API development, data pipelines, and service integrations for high-volume, mission-critical workloads
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering leadership, architects, product managers, customer success, and support teams to define priorities, scope, and delivery timelines
- Drive the architectural direction and evolution of backend systems with a focus on scalability, reliability, and security
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across your team and the broader engineering organization
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and clear growth paths to support the career development of team members
- Own hiring and talent strategy to scale engineering capabilities in alignment with business goals
- Establish and enforce engineering best practices for code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability, and operational excellence
- Lead efforts to improve engineering operations and processes through data-driven decision-making
- Communicate and align with global product and engineering teams to ensure strategic and technical alignment across the organization
Qualifications
- 3+ years of engineering management experience, with a total of 10+ years in the software industry, including a strong background in Java backend development and cloud/SaaS architecture
- Proven success managing teams that deliver scalable, high-availability services
- Strong understanding of relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL) and NoSQL systems such as MongoDB
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to balance technical depth with delivery velocity
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and microservices
- Background in large-scale SaaS platforms with multi-tenant architectures is preferred
- Familiarity with ETL workflows or data-intensive application development is preferred
- Track record of leading teams through technical transformation or scaling phases is preferred
