The Role and Responsibilities

● Direct a dynamic team of Data Scientists and Engineers developing state-of-the-art Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative-AI powered applications.

● Bring extensive expertise in manipulating semi-structured and unstructured data, transforming them into structured insights using diverse models.

● Essential experience in crafting NLP models across various sectors like Fintech, Insurance, Healthcare, and Logistics, with a bonus for insights into Insurance and Healthcare.

● Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team, including Architects, Developers, Testers, and Machine Learning Engineers.

● Analyze high-level requirements to detail out feature specifics, exploring and applying ML models using user and platform data.

● Stay at the forefront of NLP research, converting groundbreaking theories into practical solutions for Ushur.

● Initiate and strategize new ML ventures in line with broader business objectives, liaising with key stakeholders for design and execution.

● Mentor and navigate junior team members through data science projects, managing multiple products and initiatives.

● Assess requirements, aligning with the PMO for project planning.

● Lead daily stand-ups, risk management, dependency resolution, and proactive gap-closure follow-ups


Qualifications

● 8+ years in professional software design and development, including over 5 years in the NLP domain.

● At least 5 years leading large-scale ML projects.

● Expertise in text classification, unstructured data extraction, dialogue learning, machine translation, question answering, and vision/OCR applications.

● Proficient in Python or Java, with experience in ML frameworks like Pytorch, Tensorflow.

● Minimum 3 years with a major Cloud vendor (AWS, GCP, Azure).

● Exceptional verbal, written, and managerial abilities, leading a team of 5-7 ML engineers.


Nice-to-haves

● Exposure to Large Language Models and modern SaaS platforms

● Background in Insurance or Healthcare or Financial Services domain.

● Advanced degrees (Ph.D./M.S.) in Computational Linguistics, Applied Math, or similar.

 Published works in renowned NLP/RL/ML forums.

● Familiarity with MLOps platforms and Big Data ecosystems
