What will you do?

Sun Life US is building out its automation capabilities by expanding the Digital Enablement team to build, deploy and support low-code automations using Power Platform.

This role will be a technical leader for our Power Platform activities as we automate manual & repetitive tasks, improve client experiences and enable our employees focus on higher-value activities.

Our engineering career framework helps our engineers to understand the scope, collaborative reach, and levers for impact at every job role and defines the key behaviors and deliverables specific to one’s role and team and plan their career with Sun Life.

Your scope of work / key responsibilities:

  • Initial focus on Power Automate, be the technical subject matter expert for Sun Life US Power Automate solution delivery

  • As Power Platform products are adopted across the organization, specifically Power Apps, lead the delivery of Power Platform solutions across all stages of solution delivery

  • Act as Engineering lead, have oversight of a team of developers, with ownership of project deliverables and solution quality

  • Have hands-on input to technical design, integration via connectors, Web Services and RESTful APIs

  • As Engineering Lead, ensure adherence to standards based on established patterns and industry best practices

  • Liaise directly with internal stakeholders and participate in requirements gathering, solution refinement sessions to deliver required business outcomes

Key Qualifications and experience:

  • 7 – 10 years of demonstrable project experience across a range of areas:

  • MS Power Platform, Power Automate and Power Apps

  • Experience with Microsoft technologies such as SharePoint & M365 products suite

  • System integration via Web Services & RESTful API’s

  • Exposure to cloud engineering platforms such as Azure or AWS (Any one)

  • Experience with test strategies and test automation solutions

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira for backlog/progress tracking

  • Comprehensive understanding of Non-Functional Requirements in an Automation setting

  • Excellent customer focus allied to good written & verbal communication skills

Desirable Additional skills:

  • Blue Prism or other automation technology stacks

  • Prior experience working in Insurance or other large Financial Services organizations

  • Experience working in a matrix organization with multiple reporting lines
