Role Overview
Responsible for overall engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability, plant uptime, utilities availability, safety, compliance, cost optimization, and effective team management in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead overall engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring maximum equipment availability and uninterrupted production.
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance systems and monitor key maintenance KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, OEE, and uptime.
- Oversee plant utilities, including HVAC, electrical systems, DG sets, compressors, boilers, water systems, and other support utilities.
- Ensure proper maintenance of production equipment, utilities, facility, and critical engineering systems.
- Drive RCA, CAPA, reliability improvement, TPM, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage Engineering CAPEX and OPEX budgets, ensuring effective cost control and optimum resource utilization.
- Provide engineering support for new equipment/system installation, commissioning, qualification, and validation activities.
- Ensure engineering systems comply with GMP/GxP, GEP, GDP, Data Integrity, QMS, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain audit readiness and support internal, customer, and regulatory audits, ensuring timely closure of observations.
- Ensure statutory, EHS, safety, and Permit-to-Work compliance across engineering activities.
- Manage engineering vendors, contractors, AMC/CMC contracts, and critical spare parts to ensure timely and quality service.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team and ensure effective manpower planning and technical capability development.
- Drive energy efficiency, maintenance cost optimization, equipment reliability, and operational excellence initiatives.
