Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) Engineering Services seeks a professional, innovative, and detailed individual for our Designer Intern position. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work full-time. As a Designer Intern, a typical day might include the following:
Creating detailed physical and electrical designs, bills of materials, and job estimates under the technical supervision of an engineer.
Preparing CAD or Microstation drawings and other project documentation.
Providing low-level engineering support to engineers and other support personnel within division.
Completing assigned work within agreed upon schedule and budget to a high level of quality.
Constructing relay equipment racks for testing purposes on projects and assist with the testing.
This job might be for you if:
You are a current student pursing a degree/diploma in EET, CAD, Drafting, or relevant discipline.
You have demonstrated competence in CADD drafting (AutoCAD and/or Microstation).
You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
You are able to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
You are able to to work cooperatively in team environment.
