Company Overview

At CVI Laser Optics, we specialize in the design and manufacture of high performance optical components for use in lasers, laser beam conditioning, and laser beam delivery from the UV to the near-IR. We create optical assemblies and subsystems for volume OEM applications in science and industry, including spherical components, flats, polarization control, prisms and waveplates. We also provide a range of low dispersion and dispersion compensated optical components for ultrafast laser applications.

This position requires compliance with ITAR Regulations; this person must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident.

Internship Objective

Engineering interns will be partnered with a member of the CVI engineering staff and participate on a summer technical project at CVI Laser Optics focused on one or more of the following topics:

• Optical component manufacturing and test
• Optomechanical system manufacturing and test
• Optoelectronic system design and test

At the completion of the internship, the student intern will complete a project report and presentation.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in optics, optical engineering, applied physics, or associated discipline with an accredited institution
• If enrolled in bachelor’s program, must be entering Junior or Senior year of degree program (or equivalent course completion status) by Fall of 2025
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
