The Advanced Materials Group at Leidos is seeking a motivated Engineering Intern to work in our Crane IN, office. This role will be an in-person position. Our ideal candidate will be enrolled in an Engineering program at a Junior/Senior/Graduate level. As an Engineering Intern you will gain hands on experience working on challenging projects in a dynamic environment.
Our interns will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on a variety of program goals. We are seeking someone with a strong academic background in engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and a desire to learn and grow. Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis on engineering projects and assist in the development of concepts and solutions.
- Collaborate with experienced professionals to gain a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing systems and equipment.
- Contribute to the development of project plans and timelines.
- Learn and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Attend meetings and provide updates on project progress.
- Continuously seek opportunities to learn and improve skills in engineering.
- Maintain communication with team members and supervisors to ensure project goals are met.
- Demonstrate strong problem problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
- Take initiative and show a willingness to learn and take in new challenges.
- Adhere to project deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
- Represent the company in a professional manner and uphold its values and standards.
- Craft and present a poster by the end of the summer highlighting your projects/work
Basic Qualifications
- US Citizen
- 3.0 GPA or higher
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering program or related discipline at an accredited University.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Experience writing technical reports and documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Data cleaning and preparation experience
- Experience performing data analysis and proficiency in common data analysis tools (Python, MATLAB, Excel, Tableau, and/or VBA)
- Database management experience (SQL)
- Experience working with computational fluid dynamics tools (i.e. OpenFOAM)
- Prior course work or experience in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, C++, and Linux
- Experience using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)

Pay Range:Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
