Kett Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a wire harness fabrication product development associate to work in an advance automotive technology research & development facility in Elmendorf, Texas. The ideal candidate will report to the site Chief Engineer and support vehicle builds and validation activities of products which includes heavy-duty trucks and school buses. Current openings for 1st shift applicants.

1st Shift: 6:30am - 3:00pm

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Fabricating automotive electrical wire harness assemblies.
  • Vehicle installation of wire harnesses and overlays.
  • Work from schematics, diagrams, drawings, written and verbal descriptions.
  • General labor around facility & other tasks as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Fabricating prototype automotive wire harnesses assemblies, including soldering and crimping. (20-30 minute on-site harness fabrication test will be part of the interview process)
  • Able to read automotive vehicle and component electrical schematics.
  • Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings, specifications, diagrams, and instructions.
  • Familiar with oscilloscopes and digital voltage ohmmeters.
  • Career experience in the heavy truck/automotive industry.
  • Basic MS Office knowledge.

Skills Required

  • Fabricate prototype automotive wire harness assemblies including soldering and crimping
  • Perform a 20-30 minute on-site harness fabrication test as part of interview
  • Install wire harnesses and overlays in vehicles
  • Read and interpret automotive electrical schematics
  • Read and comprehend engineering drawings, specifications, diagrams, and instructions
  • Familiarity with oscilloscopes and digital voltage ohmmeters (multimeter)
  • Career experience in the heavy truck/automotive industry
  • Basic Microsoft Office knowledge
