The role

The Engineering Intern – Inside Technical Sales and Commercial Support will act as a strategic link between Sales, Marketing, Application Engineering, and Customers, supporting commercial, technical, and administrative processes at HBK Brazil.

This position aims to ensure speed, organization, accuracy, and quality in commercial support activities, directly contributing to customer experience, internal efficiency, and business opportunity generation, while also supporting local technical marketing initiatives, events, and training activities.

The role is based in São Paulo, Brazil and you will be part of dynamic team that is linked to a larger global group and will interact with customers from various industries and geographical regions as well as with our factories in Denmark, Germany and the UK.

Primary responsibilities

As Engineering Intern – Inside Technical Sales and Commercial Support you will be responsible mainly for South American customers:

Inside Technical Sales and Commercial Support

  • Support Field Sales Engineers in the preparation and issuance of quotations, ensuring speed, accuracy, and technical quality.
  • Perform follow-up on quotations and opportunities, keeping the CRM system (Salesforce) updated with status, probability of closure, and expected closing dates.
  • Interact with customers, distributors, and representatives, understanding application requirements to support the proposal of the most appropriate technical solutions.
  • Register, organize, and manage leads and sales opportunities within the CRM system.
  • Support the preparation of the monthly sales forecast, consolidating quotation and opportunity data.
  • Promote HBK complementary services, such as calibration services, technical trainings, and events.

Technical-Commercial Support

  • Support the analysis of test and measurement technical requirements, understanding applications and systems (sensors, signal conditioning, data acquisition, and software).
  • Review technical product specifications and perform comparative analyses against competing solutions.
  • Create and support the development of technical presentations, commercial materials, and sales tools.
  • Support product demonstrations and technical presentations for customers, when required.
  • Act as an interface with Engineering, Application Engineering, Planning, Customer Care, and the Calibration Laboratory, ensuring proper alignment and information flow.

Technical Marketing, Events, and Training

  • Support the full organization of technical events, such as HBK Solutions Days, Tech Days, trainings, webinars, trade shows, and seminars.
  • Execute event-related logistical activities, including:
    • Meeting room and resource reservations
    • Coffee-break and restaurant arrangements
    • Participant list management
    • Training certificate issuance
    • Organization of marketing materials (catalogs, giveaways, banners, roll-ups)
  • Create and support email marketing campaigns, monitoring basic performance metrics.
  • Promote events and trainings through digital channels, including LinkedIn, newsletters, the HBK website, and other relevant media.
  • Create post-event satisfaction surveys and consolidate results.
  • Track and report local event-related costs.
  • Produce content and posts related to HBK events and trainings on LinkedIn.

Administrative and Operational Support

  • Perform triage and routing of emails, phone calls, and internal requests.
  • Support general administrative activities related to the commercial area.
  • Organize information, documents, and processes to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with local and global HBK / Spectris teams.

Professional qualifications and personal skills

Education

  • Students enrolled in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong interest in working in a B2B technical-commercial environment.

Technical Skills

  • Interest or basic knowledge in electronics, mechanics, instrumentation, test and measurement systems.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce) is desirable.
  • Advanced English (reading, writing, and verbal communication).
