Engineering Group Manager- Architecture Strategy & Integration

Work Arrangement:
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren- Cole Engineering Center Tower three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business].
The Role:
In our pursuit to lead process driven product designs further left into the vehicle development cycle, the General Assembly Global Manufacturing Engineering team is challenging the limits on what is possible as it reimagines how to build the next generation of vehicles. As part of the reimagination, a newly formed Architecture Strategy & Integration organization has been established. As the leader of this group, you will manage a group of salaried employees to facilitate new product and manufacturing solutions that ensure seamless integration with current and future manufacturing strategies and processes.
What You'll Do:
- Determine the GA assembly strategy for all future programs, developing the new BOP and requirements necessary to enable lowest cost manufacturing solutions.
- Lead in the collaboration of new product technologies to ensure seamless integration with current manufacturing strategies, design for simplicity and design for automation.
- Lead BEC and Design for Assembly workshops for future products & programs. Determining the best of the best solutions through benchmarking.
- Lead a team of technical experts to define manufacturing best practice requirements, manufacturing requirements and implement a vision of what the GA factory of the future will be.
- Participate in Product lead DFMEAs & develop, maintain Level 1 PFMEA.
- Support CME-led Level 2 PFMEA reviews and adherence to MRs/GA Strategies
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree - Engineering or equivalent manufacturing engineering experience
- 7+ years of relevant work experience
- High level of analytical ability, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with team members and customers to solve and resolve problems and issues.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple people/projects and assignments with a high level of autonomy and accountability.
- Possess the ability to deal with complex problems (Results orientation, change leadership, commercial orientation).
What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master's degree
- General Assembly processing, tooling experience, execution experience or plant operations experience.
- 10+ years of experience
