The Boeing Customer Support Analytics team is looking to hire an Engineering Data Scientist (Senior or Lead) in Seal Beach, California.
Position Overview:
The Boeing Customer Support Analytics team is looking to hire an Engineering Data Scientist (Senior or Lead) in Seal Beach, California to lead a high-performing analytics team, mentor junior engineers, and shape our organizational AI strategy and infrastructure. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in machine learning and data engineering with state of the art technologies and proven leadership skills to drive model development, deployment, and ability to operationalize at scale. This role will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define AI roadmap, establish best practices, and build robust, production-ready systems that deliver measurable business impact. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Engineering Data Scientist (Senior or Lead).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on and execute the organization's AI strategy and roadmap, aligning models and projects to business goals and KPIs.
- Prepare and present technical roadmaps, progress updates, and risk assessments to senior stakeholders.
- Architect scalable ML infrastructure and production pipelines (data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, deployment, and monitoring).
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating new tools, frameworks, and methodologies and introducing them where appropriate.
- Provide technical leadership to a team of engineering data scientists, set priorities, drive delivery of AI initiatives.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers through coaching, code reviews, career planning, and hands-on technical guidance.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to identify high-impact use cases and translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Ensure robust security, access controls, and cost-effective cloud/on-prem resource utilization for AI workloads.
- Establish and enforce best practices for model development, testing, versioning, CI/CD, and reproducibility.
- Monitor production and deployment; prepares decision support visualizations and reports, algorithms, models, dashboards and/or tools.
- Own model governance, explainability, bias mitigation, and compliance with regulatory and privacy requirements.
- Oversee data quality, lineage, and the creation/management of feature stores and shared data assets.
Work Authorization:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Seal Beach, California location.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
- 9+ years experience in data science, data analytics, data engineering, AI/ML, ETL.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to determine, define and deploy complex descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, or prescriptive analytic solutions.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Master's degree in data science, machine learning, applied statistics, mathematics, or other analytics oriented scientific field of study.
- 14+ years experience in data science, data analytics, data engineering, AI/ML, ETL.
- Experience working with full analytics technology stacks; Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Teradata, Databricks, API, etc.
- Experience developing integrated analytics strategies and capability roadmaps.

Summary Pay Range:
- Senior (Level 4): $173,400 - $234,600
- Lead (Level 5): $218,450 - $295,550
