Job Description
BryceTech is currently seeking an experienced Engineering Controls Specialist (Hazardous Work Protection) This position will be supporting The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Chemical Biological Center (CBC). The person in this role will:
- Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
- Investigate accidents to identify causes or to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
- Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations. Results will be provided to the government for approval.
- Develop and maintain hygiene programs, such as noise surveys, continuous atmosphere monitoring, ventilation surveys, or asbestos management plans.
- Coordinate "right-to-know" programs regarding hazardous chemicals or other substances.
- Conduct safety training or education programs and demonstrate the use of safety equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, personal protection equipment, suits, and gloves. The training is on the job training, not formal training classes.
- Calibrate and certify safety equipment to include laboratory engineering controls (i.e. chemical fume hoods, biosafety cabinets, etc.). The contractor must
Qualifications
- 6+ years on experience in the field of engineering controls certification
- Must have a technical Degree above a high school diploma
- Must have all certifications required to certify safety equipment
- Proven experience with Hazardous Materials handling or Hazardous Environments
- Detail oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Proven ability to work in a team-based environment working cross-departmentally to complete projects as needed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, initiative and follow-through, and flexibility and responsiveness to changing requirements and conditions.
- Demonstrated ability to think analytically.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work to deadlines are essential.
