As a Test Engineer within Core Data & Analytics, you will directly contribute to the Enterprise Data Platform within Northwestern Mutual - the Unified Data Platform. You will be building the data and AI infrastructure platform that enables one of the largest financial services mutual organizations in the United States to use deep insights to improve our client experiences!
As a Test Engineer within Core Data & Analytics, you will work within an Agile environment to develop a test automation framework that validates the Unified Data Platform. You will work alongside a team of Data Engineers and deliver automated tests that enable full continuous build and delivery capabilities, as well as sophisticated performance and baseline monitoring suites. We are searching for a motivated individual who has a passion to experiment and learn new technologies, while valuing an environment that encourages and supports one another.
What's the Role?
- Works within an Agile development team to design and implement automated tests to validate our enterprise data platform capabilities.
- Fully invested in test automation and embracing new frameworks and techniques.
- Coaches development team to align shared automation goals and improve overall testing practices.
- Separates and designs test harnesses fit for purpose: e.g. functional, integration, end to end, performance, etc.
- Develops and supports dashboards to provide a consolidated view of platform health, based on test automation results and real-time environment monitoring.
BRING YOUR BEST! ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in test automation or related field.
- Proficient programming and scripting skills.
- Strong skills using test automation frameworks, primarily headless (aka backend) workflows.
- Experience with cloud technologies, e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Proficient with GIT and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Active learner, who is eager to dive into new technologies.
- Self-motivated and driven - a team player who works well with other engineers, product owners, and non-technical roles.
