Role Summary

Mavenir is seeking an experienced engineer with a strong background in Packet Core Technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and experience in this domain and have exposure to 5G.

The ideal candidate is expected to understand Cloud Technologies and possess the ability to quickly learn new technologies. The candidate must be flexible in working across multiple time-zones and in supporting customers in the evening or on weekends.

This is a high profile and demanding role and the candidate will be part of an extremely fast paced work environment. Prior Operational experience working with Tier-1 Operators is desired. The ideal candidate will have strong New Product Introduction experience and must posses the ability to articulate issues and technology data to customers (to all organizational levels including CXO) in a clear and concise manner .

Key Responsibilities

• Scope, define and design solution offerings; driving end-to-end technical solutions
• Prepare network plan and solution architecture to deploy Mavenir solutions (RAN, SMSC, Packet Core etc) in customer's networks in private and public cloud.
• Provide technical expertise as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support in the RFI/RFP responses
• Oversee design and development of tooling required for DevOps tooling required in private or public cloud deployments
• Analyze customer technology, define business requirements and participate in risk analysis
• Work with sales team on list of potential activities and solutions
• Develop technical presentations and proposals, and perform customer presentations
• Provide timely feedback to R&D on issues from field
• Participate in knowledge transfer, documentation and information sharing with customer as well as internal stakeholders as needed for given deployment
• Stay abreast of new technology and trends in telecom and cloud
• Deploy/Test and Troubleshoot Mavenir solution on virtualized (open Stack or VMWARE) or containerized (k8) cloud platforms
• Able to prepare various project artifacts i.e. CIQ, Network Diagram, call flow document, descriptors /HelmCharts, Deployment Procedures as well Method of procedure for software upgrades of various application
• Deploy/Test and Troubleshoot Voice/Messaging applications on virtualized (OpenStack or VMWARE) or containerized (k8) cloud platform
• Work with customer for end to end testing and associated troubleshooting (Voice/Messaging Applications)

Job Requirements

• Education: BE/ B Tech/ Engineering Degree
• Minimum 8 years of overall experience with Packet Core domain, Virtualization and Cloud based 5G & 4G Packet Core
• 3-5 years of hands on experience working IMS and Packet Core or RAN applications.
• Must Have hands on experience on 4G & 5G systems.
• Must have familiarity with Kubernetes and Containers.
• Should be familiar with CI/CD and agile methodologies.
• Knowledge on mobile networks, especially on 3GPP LTE 4G and 5G standards is desired
• Experience with either AWS or Azure or GCP is required.
• Certification of any Cloud Native platform deployment would be preferred ( Redhat/Azure/GCP/ Kubernetes)
• Knowledge on VOLTE/WIFI, EPC and IMS core End to End Call flows and testing
• Knowledge of Protocols like SIP, Diameter, HTTP as well as wireless network architecture along with strong IP networking knowledge
• Should be a self-starter that requires minimal supervision
• Highly collaborative and a team player.
• Able to develop productive working level relationships with the customer, as well as, R&D teams at Mavenir.
• Excellent inter-personal and leadership skills.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent presentation skills for a variety of audiences including executives, partners, and customers.
• Ability to quickly grasp and adapt to new technologies and concepts.
