WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Access Control Systems Engineer is responsible for being the go-to internal knowledge resource for technical and installation best-practice knowledge in electronic access control systems for RealPage's Channel Program in support of Realpage's overall Smart Buildings business strategy.

  • You will serve as the internal Realpage Channel Program access control systems knowledge resource.
  • You will have the opportunity and responsibility to train and become highly skilled in all Realpage Smart Building Access Control products.
  • You will have the opportunity and responsibility to train and become highly skilled in all relevant aspects of access control systems that integrate with Realpage Smart Buildings products.
  • You will be responsible for training new channel partners and fellow Realpage employees on how to best design, install, program, and support Realpage electronic access control products for new construction and retrofits.
  • You will proactively seek out new smart access control system training to develop and expand your personal skill set to provide additional technical training and support of Realpage employees and Realpage Channel Partners.
  • You will assist with developing technical training materials related to Realpage smart access control products.
  • You will travel to meet Channel Partners at project sites or in their offices to provide live training sessions as required to support the Channel Program.
  • You will travel to attend industry training and conferences as necessary to support the Channel Program.
  • You will occasionally travel to active installations to provide Quality Control, Troubleshooting and Inspection of Channel Partner work.
  • Estimated travel: 30-40%



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively train and expand your knowledge of Realpage Smart Access Control and all Realpage Smart Buildings products in general.
  • Articulate your technical knowledge to others, advising Channel Partners and fellow Realpage employees on Access Control best practices, the latest industry trends, and technology.
  • Recommend products and methods, services, and solutions that solve business problems as they occur.
  • Act as the main interface between RealPage and the Channel Partners when access control technical questions arise or when additional training is needed.
  • In tandem with the Channel Manager, educate the channel partner on RealPage's value proposition, and periodic roadmap updates.
  • Ensure channel partners meet RealPage quality standards KPIs (Technical).
  • Developing and maintain business relationships with electronic access control equipment manufacturers that conduct business related to cloud and the corresponding partner.
  • Define Channel Partner Technical Ability Goals and ensure they are met or exceeded.
  • Work in tandem with Channel Managers to assist Channel Partners in identifying and closing new business.
  • Satisfy internal reporting requirements in accordance with RealPage's policies and practices.
  • Participate in trade shows and industry events.



REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Minimum of 5 years of practical experience installing complete electronic access control systems.
  • Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in another related Low Voltage system such as Structured Cabling, Fiber Splicing, Telephony, WiFi/Data Networking, A/V, CCTV, IoT.
  • Strong familiarity with basic electronics, electronic access control concepts, and basic design of access control systems.
  • Strong background in general construction strongly recommended.
  • Prior OSHA training and Certification encouraged.
  • Strong knowledge of the multifamily construction industry and the multifamily project construction schedule.
  • Proven experience in training others in technical concepts.
  • Proven experience in development and in nurturing long term relationships with contractors, integrators, and manufacturers reps.
  • Strong team-building skills.
  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and effective presentation and training skills.
