About the Role
As a member of the Marketplace Fares Solutions team, you'll be a part of the group that power global fares for all of Uber. Billions in gross bookings flow through our systems and experiences, we ensure trustworthy fares for all of our users across the world. This includes every upfront price a rider sees when deciding to take Uber, and all trip earnings for drivers. We orchestrate Uber's sophisticated pricing and complex business logic, and apply predictive models as part of providing an experience that engenders customer trust and long-term engagement.
With Fares as a central and critical experience to Uber's customers, we collaborate with many teams and functions across Uber to deliver a truly global-scale impact.
What You'll Do

• You will be responsible for development of our platform framework infrastructure and libraries to improve user experience.
• You will have a deep understanding of the problems our platform solves for. You will also get to work with many different parts of the company in helping drive projects that impact millions of customers.
• Provide technical leadership to a passionate, experienced, and diverse engineering team to design and build the next major generations of Marketplace fare solutions

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years relevant engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a similar field or equivalent practical experience
• Strong language skills using Go, Java, C++, C#, and/or Python

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building and shipping features end-to-end (frontend and backend) in partnership with Product Managers and UX Designers
• Experience in crafting and developing large scale distributed systems and scalable backend services utilizing a microservices architecture
• Deep knowledge in fullstack web architecture
• Demonstrated ability tackling Staff level engineering problems
• Proven ability to develop other strong senior engineers into Staff engineers, operating and leading their own initiatives with org-wide scope and high impact.
• Strong web development experience in programming languages such as Javascript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS and working with web application development frameworks such as NodeJS, React, Redux, Angular, Next or similar
• Experience with NoSql and relational databases
