You will work in a very interdisciplinary team environment to develop industry-leading genetic analysis instrumentation and device products.

Primary responsibilities of this position include fluidic and microfluidics systems architecture, component design and implementation, metrology development, reliability test, systems integration, and supplier management in both integrated consumables and instruments utilizing novel reagents, chemistry, and recipes. This candidate should be highly motivated to work cross-functionally in the ecosystem of fluidics, optics, precision motion, electronics, and biochemistry, and embrace role changes throughout the whole product development process from early conceptualization to commercialization and manufacturing transfer.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to fluid systems architecture design and down selection to meet system-level requirements and specifications.
  • Lead design and customization of critical fluid components and sub-assemblies include pumps, valves, sensors, manifolds, flexible elements, fluid interfaces and routing, etc. to meet the functional, cost, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and safety requirements
  • Drive critical parameter management and design FMEA process to achieve high robustness, reliability, and lifetime performance of fluid systems.
  • Design and implement testbeds and metrology fixtures for component-level and system-level characterization, diagnostic, and reliability/life testing.
  • Contribute to the selection and qualification of critical suppliers/partners for both fast prototyping and volume manufacturing.
  • Lead quality control workflows with critical suppliers to minimize supply quality issues in production.
  • Contribute to fluid systems integration, functional test, and recipe development through the collaboration with cross-functional teams.
