In today's data economy, Micron's memory and storage products are essential to advancing state of the art computing technology. Continued scaling of memory technology presents challenges that require complex and creative testing solutions. As a Test Engineer you will be responsible for the development, debug and maintenance of test programs that help deliver Micron's world-class Solid State Drive portfolio to market. An NPI SSD Test Engineer is specifically focused on evolving test coverage for new products from inception to a full coverage suite that ensures quality and efficiency in a high-volume manufacturing environment. As test engineers, we must constantly evolve and apply the right technology and testing solution to be successful. We need your passion and excitement to help take the team to the next level!
Responsibilities:

  • Design new test programs for validation of new SSD product/technology during start-up phase. These programs provide very important feedback to the various internal groups responsible for refining product quality and performance.
  • Develop and maintain test programs of Micron SSD products to ensure Micron SSD products meet specifications, to support device performance characterization needs and to allow analysis of customer returns.
  • Optimize test programs to reduce product test times and manufacturing cost by improving the efficiency of the testing methods.
  • Automate test process by writing software scripts to improve efficiency.
  • Enhance test coverage to ensure excellent outgoing quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with product and equipment engineering teams to improve overall product yields and equipment efficiency to maximize ROI.
  • Collaborate with test capacity and manufacturing teams to meet production output goals.
  • Develop and monitor process and engineering metrics to ensure stability, efficiency, and effectiveness of test processes.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering/Computer Science/Computer Engineering.
  • Good programming skills with interest in writing and debugging test programs.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Interest to learn about SSDs and their functionality.
  • One or more of the following would be advantageous:
    • Prior experience in writing software is highly desirable
    • Knowledge of any of the following: Python/C, C++/Perl.
    • Prior experience in writing test programs for NAND/SSD/system level testing would be an advantage.
    • Familiarity with DMM/Oscilloscope operation

Directs and coordinates engineering activities concerned with development, procurement, installation, and calibration of instruments, equipment and control devices. Determines conditions under which tests are to be conducted, and phases of test operations. Coordinates operational, functional and performance phases of tests. Analyzes and interprets test data. Prepares technical reports of for use by engineering personnel.
