Sr. Software Engineer - Frontend - Packer Cloud

Our products enable companies large and small to mix and match AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and other clouds as well as on-premises environments, easing their ability to deliver new applications for their business.
The Packer team, like all of HashiCorp, is fully distributed (100% remote). We have been a remote company since our founding in 2012.
About the role
Packer is one of HashiCorp's oldest tools, and is a de facto standard in the infrastructure community for creating and automating the creation of machine images for dozens of platforms and technologies. The Packer team supports a strong open source community and these integrations, and recently has announced a new service on HashiCorp's cloud platform "HCP". This service aims to simplify complex workflows HashiCorp customers have for managing machine images, and the primary interface to work with this new service is the user interface in the browser.
In this role you can expect to:
- Work on a very small team developing the web application for HCP Packer, which is the primary interaction point (along with the CLI) for all users of the system.
- Work closely with the HashiCorp Cloud Platform team to improve the framework and capabilities of the broader platform user interface workflows
- Listen to feedback and interact thoughtfully with our early customers after launch.
- Work closely with product design to own the full lifecycle of feature development from prototyping through testing and release.
- Program mostly in Javascript, learning from and contributing to a team and frontend community at HashiCorp committed to continually improving their skills.
You may be a good fit for our team if:
- You've worked on a complex frontend application with a variety of user personas
- You have experience in both markup (HTML/Handlebars/JSX), stylesheets (CSS/Sass) and Typescript/Javascript and Ember or React.
- You are passionate about making inclusive UIs, including accessibility and internationalization.
- You take performance seriously and strive for consistent smooth fps and quick page load times.
