About The Role
Mobile data platform builds a platform to capture and surface high quality mobile events data. This data is critical for Uber in order to understand consumer behaviors and build features to better serve the customers, to derive engineering and business metrics for better understanding of our business, and to build models for greater efficiency and customer experience.
Mobile data platform team ensures that Uber has high quality, source of truth data for all lines of business. As the mobile data platform team, we define a comprehensive, systematic, and end to end data management process of mobile events. We build a platform to collect, transfer, process and route mobile data to different downstream , which make them consumable by our customers: engineers, data scientists, PMs, EMs, and operations.
What You'll Do
  • Makes it easy to define and produce the mobile data
  • Enables data management and data discovery at your fingertips
  • Ensures high quality of data through testing/validation, review, and production monitoring
  • Ensures critical mobile data are transferred to the backend reliably with low latency
  • Ensures the mobile data are properly owned, produced, consumed

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience coding using general purpose programming language (eg. Java, C/C++, Go, C#, or Javascript)

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least three (3) years of software engineering experience
  • Experience with micro services, Kafka, Cassandra preferred
