Sr. Site Reliability Engineer, DBA
We are looking for a DBA with experience in managing core and large scale databases and is familiar with database technologies such as MySQL, MongoDB to join our excellent team. You will work with engineers to implement solutions for database related projects and tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy and maintain production environments that requires high availability, Monitor servers to proactively identify performance issues, problematic trends and troubleshoot/escalate to resolve as appropriate.
- Drive the product towards higher availability and reliability & assist with on-call support on a rotating schedule for incident escalations (24x7)
- Ensure our services meet stability, performance, and availability requirements.
- Build robust, self-healing features and automation that reduce operational effort and improve service up-time.
- Ability to work with global R&D and Cloud Services to help design and develop deployment automation procedures for new cloud service offerings
- Assist Development and Support with troubleshooting customers issues related to performance, product usability, or service availability
- Working under pressure in production environments running production customer workloads and services
- Self-starter mindset with a strong drive to learn and own engineering initiatives to promote a culture of continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
Experience:
- 6+ years of experience in PostgreSQL support work and database performance tuning. (Postgres versions 9.6, 10, 11+.)
- Strong backup and restore (pg_dump, physical backup tools) experience.
- Strong SQL Query tuning and development experience and Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Strong experience with Postgres PL/pgSQL.
- Experience in one of the following Scripting Languages- Python, Bash
- Replication and failover experience.
- User and object permission management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Pgpool.
- Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB
Education:
- BS or MS in Computer Science or similar technical degree or equivalent experience
